			The [[Institute of Stoneworks]] is a specialty institute attended by the fewest number of [[Tinker]]s. [[Tinker]]s with Powers from this Institute understand stone and its many uses, primarily as a building material. Any competent stonemason with a pile of rocks and some mortar can build a house, but things get significantly more complicated as the size of the edifice increases.

			[[Tinker]]s with Powers from the [[Institute of Stoneworks]] are able to instruct builders and stonemasons on the proper placement and support of ever-massive stones for increasingly monumental constructions. Through their intuition, structures of many storeys with complicated layouts and passages become possible where an ordinary builder's attempts would result in catastrophic collapse.

			In addition to these structural Powers, an accomplished Stoneworks [[Tinker]] can spot weaknesses in stone structures—weaknesses entirely invisible to a layman's eye. On the battlefield, a [[Tinker]] with the appropriate Powers can direct troops or siege engines to exploit these structural flaws and rapidly bring down enemy defenses. Consequently, these rare [[Tinker]]s are highly sought after by military commanders and world leaders alike.

			[[Tinker]] schools, including the [[Institute of Stoneworks]], are strictly and uniformly run. Instructors are perpetually overworked by their host cities or states with urgent military and civil projects, meaning they tolerate no slack students. The Institute regiment is strictly divided into one part classroom instruction and two parts practical field work in quarries, active construction yards, or fortification sites.

			The course is paid for through tuition directly to the school or to the instructing [[Tinker]]. Favors or alternative tasks are rarely accepted as barter; however, the city or state in which the course is offered can sometimes be called upon to sponsor a student's tuition in exchange for a binding commitment to public service.

			As with other institutes, repetition is the key to mastering a Power. Through the relentless repetition of rote work—such as extracting raw stone from quarries, drafting architectural blueprints, building scale models, assisting in the erection of full-sized structures, and safely dismantling condemned buildings—the associated archetype Power eventually manifests. This grants the successful student the permanent intuition required to perform these architectural rituals independently.
