The Creed of the Lock is a manifesto of pure defiance. While most of Otan accepts a locked door as a physical reality, the Rogue views any denial of entry as a personal affront to their nature. Practitioners of this Creed do not merely pick locks; they unravel the very concept of "closed."

Through a fusion of superhuman intuition and "Will," they perceive the inner tumblers of a mechanism as clearly as if the casing were glass. A Master of the Lock can scale impossible heights, sense the hair-trigger click of a hidden trap, and slide through bolted windows. To follow this Creed is to ensure that you can never truly be kept out.

Many Rogues are "raised" into the Creed by Fagans, elderly mentors who recruit children into illicit apprenticeships. Adults seeking to master new powers must navigate the complex, often lethal hierarchy of the local underworld. Training involves a dual path of discipline: rote memorization of the Creed’s tenets and participation in a "live job" under a Boss’s supervision.

Interestingly, because the penalty for theft is often death, these criminal organizations often have more rigid rules than legitimate guilds. Once a power is manifested, the Rogue’s debt is considered paid; they are free to use their skills as a criminal, a bounty hunter, or even a lawman, provided they survive the job.
