Rogues use Power to vanish into surroundings, masking sound, sight, and scent. Taught through mantras and criminal capers. Non-Rogues frequently seek these powers but face high failure rates.

Perhaps the most sought-after Powers by many of the non-Rogues, the Creed of the Veil teaches powers that enable the Rogue to disappear in their surroundings. While the Powers are rooted in practical effects, such as the ability to remain motionless, color theory, camouflage, and a Sophist's understanding of how people and creatures perceive their surroundings.

Rogues indoctrinated into the Creed of the Veil are able to add Power to their skills to create an aura that makes their veils that much more convincing and effective. Unpowered, a Rogue might have all the skills necessary to walk stealthily, for example. With Power, the same Rogue might stifle all the noise in an area.

With more power, he might recreate the ambient noise that one would expect from a given environment, which is superior to dead silence. The Code of the Veil teaches the Rogue to veil themselves from other senses as well. They will be masters in creating an appropriate scent for blending into their surroundings. Many an adventurer has lost their life at the hands of an enemy with an acute sense of smell.

Teaching Methods

Like the other Creeds, teachers are usually Fagans or senior bosses from Rogue factions. They start with rote memorization of the Creed of the Veil. The student Rogue must be able to recite the mantra, and often does even when using the learned power. "I am a whisper..." or "I am the raven in the night," they will recite in their heads as they sneak from one location to another.

Teachers of these Powers will almost certainly involve the student in a caper where they can put the learned traits of this power to use, in the hopes that the Power will come to them during the job. The practical effects in play, the mantra memorized, all that is left is for the Power to imbue itself upon the student, and the lesson is complete; often with a successful and profitable job as a reward for the work.
