Every society across Otan, from the sweeping steppes to the dense urban centers, possesses and actively nurtures these martial planners. They are carefully educated to see the grand strategic picture, transforming raw local levies into disciplined defensive standing armies capable of withstanding prolonged sieges or sudden incursions.
An accomplished Knight is a multifaceted leader who defies simple categorization. This discipline is taught by an experienced Lord via intense combat drills and squire instruction. Mastering the Code of Armor requires a dedicated forge, the presence of a Lord, and the assistance of a patient blacksmith.
Code of Arms: This school unlocks powers for legendary offensive strikes, such as Smite, which are used to lay low monumental threats like dragons or giants. Mastery over these devastating techniques is achieved through a Lord’s guidance within a home armory. This specialized training is at its most effective when undertaken within a Knight's own keep.
Code of Diplomacy: Knights who follow this path master the art of peace-making alongside the mystical Attend power, which grants them the ability to travel vast distances instantly. This school is taught through rigorous education in etiquette and staged negotiations. While it remains open to all Knights, it is entirely impossible for non-Knights to learn.
Code of Dominion: Followers of this school manifest tangible power by living out written laws. The Code of Dominion grants supernatural leadership and inspiration to those who swear it. It is taught through the principles of fealty and active estate management; non-Knights are strictly barred from these teachings to protect the social hierarchy.
Code of Dressage: This tradition allows Knights to forge a "second nature" bond with their chosen mounts. Taught in specialized riding rings by an experienced Lord, students must also successfully teach a squire in order to fully master the link. This code is exclusively found at noble keeps that feature well-established stables.
